Originally from South Jersey, Captain Joe Wozniak grew up surfing, boating and fishing at the Jersey Shore and was destined towards a career on the water.  He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in September 2001 and retired in May 2022 after 20 years of distinguished service. His duty stations have included New Jersey, Virginia, New York, Florida, California, Maryland and the Pacific Northwest.  A Boatswain Mate by trade, Captain Wozniak quickly became an expert in boat maintenance, seamanship, navigation, boat/ship handling and search & rescue. In addition to his nautical expertise, Captain Wozniak has enforced commercial/recreational boating laws as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer. Although eligible for years, Captain Wozniak became a licensed Merchant Mariner in 2016 and said "the hardest part of achieving the license was the application process".  He holds a 100 ton Masters license upon Near Coastal waters with an endorsement for commercial assistance towing and is also a member of the Chesapeake Area Professional Captains Association and the National Safe Boating Council. Why choose an amateur Captain when you can choose a proven professional.
